Sal and Lach Simpson from Yu On Blue Australia, and Jermaine Lewis from Yellabidi Dreaming are proud to release the LIMITED EDITION ‘Beeliar’ standup paddleboard. The ‘Beeliar’ is the result of over 12 months of collaboration between the group, and draws together the truly amazing artistic talent of Jermaine, and over 10 years of SUP design and construction experience from Sal and Lach.
The end result is a SUP that is both visually stunning, and extremely functional.
Jermaine had this to say about his artwork: ‘As a local Nyoongar/ Yamitji Aboriginal man, I’m very proud and honoured to have teamed up with YOB to produce something special for others to enjoy. The artwork has a very special meaning to it. It depicts my relationship with the ocean and rivers being a place of significance for me and my personal healing, as well as a place of peace.’
Lach and Sal “are absolutely thrilled with how the Beeliar has come together, and look forward to new and exciting journeys that lie ahead for Yellabidi Dreaming and Yu On Blue Australia. It is a privilege to be collaborating with Jermaine and we are thankful of Jermaines’ family and heritage for the opportunity to work together.’
The ‘Beeliar’ SUP is based on the very popular ‘Bluegrass’ model. The same great allround shape, and similar robust, yet light timber veneer/ epoxy fibreglass construction top and bottom, with extra reinforcing to the rails and standing area.
